A plot twist to the retro specs, we play with stronger colours which make it more fun and delicious. We added essence of retro into the design to bring out the retro feel. Every point of entry is a different expectation.
Initially, we thought of having a combination of geometrical shapes, however, it did not work well as it effect the use of space. So we twist it a little and combine it with details.
Living room -- We make used of the old school bricks and the idea of bay window at the foyer area to make it into the shoe cabinet with a long bench. The shoe cabinet not only serve as a settee, it also serve as dinning bench (due to the space constraint). The storage TV cabinet idea came from the rubix cube where colors are randomly placed. Moreover, the ideas continues towards the ceiling where it resemble the idea of the rubix changing to straight colors.
Bedroom 3 -- As the room is relatively small, we tried not to have too many tall cabinets in the room thus, we did a chamfered edge at the top hung cabinet so that it does not look so bulky when entering. We did a fully glass display cabinet for the display of books and toy which allows a showcase. Bedroom 2-- Back to school, making use of the idea of lockers and flip up table, different compartment of the top hung represent locker. Each bay window have a distinct colour is a transition of working/study area to a relax corner. Master Bedroom -- We make use of a more classical approach using black and white combination in the room.
