STYLE
Industrial, Scandinavian
The owners of this 5rm new BTO prefer a style that incorporates the elements of wood, white bricks, cement and black industrial style lightings. The design concept chosen was a marriage between Scandinavian and Industrial - scandustrial.

The living area features a full stretch white brick stucco wall. We laid cement screed lookalike floor tiles instead of using the actual cement screed to achieve that industrial look minus the hassle in maintaining cement screed flooring. While the actual cement screed may look better as it is more natural, to some it may be rather cold and rough for home flooring. A trendy barn laminate was chosen for the cabinets and dining feature wall design, together with black wood and cement textured laminates, and bronze tinted mirror finishes.

At the kitchen area, the walls were hacked away to create a dry kitchen area with full height cabinets and a bar counter. Clear tempered glass sliding door was build to close up the wet kitchen area with two sides of cabinets for washing and cooking.

Lightings with black design and track lights were chosen to lit up the living and dining areas. Black conduits and casings on the ceiling were connected to the lights and fan to run the electrical wires and also contributed to the industrial look. Colours of the walls were painted white for a brighter outlook in consistent with Scandinavian concept. The overall objective was to achieve a cosy home with nice ambience lighting and balancing the colder elements of industrial concept.
